The problem
Renters asked the same questions all day: availability, viewings, documents, rules.
Context
A rental platform in Dublin was answering repetitive renter questions by hand, and anything that arrived after hours waited until morning.
What I built
- A chatbot that answers from the platform’s own knowledge base (RAG), so replies stay accurate and on-brand instead of guessed.
- Lead capture inside the conversation, with qualified enquiries passed to the team.
- Clear handover to a human when a question falls outside what the bot knows.
Trade-off worth naming
Restricting the bot to the knowledge base means it sometimes says “let me pass you to the team” instead of improvising. That was deliberate: a wrong answer about a tenancy costs more than a handover.
